Bridal Services

I have been providing a bridal make-up service for 10 years. I have found this aspect to my work extremely rewarding and have felt great joy and delight in seeing my brides so radiant on their special day.

What the service provides

My bridal make-up and hair service is tailor made for each person. Some prefer just make-up and others like to have both. In each case, I like to talk through their requirements, firstly on the phone then an appointment is made to do a trial. I am very flexible with trial appointments, realising that it is not always possible to get time off of work. Weekends are always possible, but weddings obviously take priority.

If hair and make-up is required, then the trials are arranged together but it is also possible to arrange them separately should you have a function to go to and want to take the opportunity to “road test” how our work stands up to an evening of fun and frolics! Trials are usually done in the client’s own home, but are perfectly OK to be done at another address, should this be where you are getting ready on the day, or in my own home. Trials usually last about 1 ½ hours for either hair or make-up or about 3 hours for both.

After everything has been agreed upon, a colour chart is sent to you, outlining all products and colours. This is so that you get a good idea of what we’ve used and that you will always have a record of your products. All make-up is supplied by myself, and the only item that needs touching up will be the lipcolour. This is purchased by myself and brought on the day and must be reimbursed for either at the trial or on the day. I use only top brand products ensuring extreme durability so that the make-up will see you through from the morning to late into the evening.

A week or so before the wedding, I get back in touch to go over timings and arrangements. Any changes in numbers or venue etc can then be accounted for. On the Big Day, I make sure that I arrive with plenty of time to set up. If there are both myself and the hairstylist and we have a large party to attend to, we try to set up in separate areas if possible to keep things running smoothly and to avoid stressful situations for our brides. Also, it keeps the area cool if the blow drier is going at full pelt! We have no problem with helping with the dress and veil and are always ready and willing to stand by in case a family member is unable to.

Areas covered

All areas of London and the M25 are covered. Generally this is within my 20 mile free travel zone although all distances are checked first. I gladly cover many miles surrounding the area, usually up to around 70miles, but this will be charged for. Any locations beyond that distance have on many occasions been accepted, however the client has agreed to pay for travel by rail or an overnight stay in a local B&B or budget hotel.

Payment terms

A small deposit is generally required when first making the booking. This is negotiable depending upon whether or not the trial is to be done almost immediately or nearer the Big Day, or the popularity of the wedding date (ie: a weekend in summer months is going to be more in demand than a Tuesday in February!). 50% of the deposit is refundable should circumstances change and a cancellation is made, for whatever reason, up to 12 weeks before the wedding. After that period it is non-refundable.

Full payment for both hair and make-up for the Bride must be made on completion of a full and satisfactory trial. We do not leave you until you are totally happy. If there are small issues, such as seeing what the hair trial could look like with the addition of a hairpiece or if a trim is needed, then full payment can be deferred until the second trial, but an agreed amount will be charged for the time taken to do the trial and the balance can be settled when entirely happy. Should the booking have to be cancelled after the trial has been done, then 50% is refundable up to 12 weeks before the wedding, after which it is non-refundable. Payment by cheque, cash or internet banking (by prior arrangement) are acceptable.
